About Me

Hi! I’m Ash. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my blog!

As I write this, the weather in Wimbledon (where I live) cannot decide whether it wants to be a gloriously sunny day, or a drab rainy one, and I can only blame this on the fact that Andy Murray is currently playing down the road at the championships.  But that’s always the way in London – so much to do, mixed with a determination not to let the British weather get in the way!  And it’s these endless London opportunities that I want to write about (as well as further afield of course), because London isn’t just the normal ‘touristy’ areas that people tend to think of, and these other places deserve some attention!

So, London.  But also the rest of the world (I hope, travel fund permitting!).  My love of travel started when I took a gap year before uni.  Looking back on it now, it was a very naive time, very little in the way of planning, a lot of wasted opportunities to see more of Australia and Asia, but it’s never too late to go back!  Travel took a back seat for a long time through uni and the start of work, but then a friend’s birthday trip to Budapest reignited the travel fire, and I’ve been away as much as I can ever since!  I’ve been to 29 countries so far, and am determined to bump this number up to 40 over the next year or so!  So far this year I’ve spent time in Slovenia, Switzerland, and Canada, and currently have trips booked for Spain, Germany, India and a month long tour through Central America – so watch this space for relevant blogs!

So why start a travel blog?  I’ve been interested in writing for a long time, but the rest of life would always get in the way, and I was never sure what to write about it.  Then one day, I realised that I could write about my passion, and so here we are.  My friends always come to me for travel advice, so I hope that I can produce some useful and relevant blogs for you.

Thanks again for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy what you read!
